Much to the chagrin of fans worldwide, CBS has announced that it has cancelled Jericho.
“The March 25 episode will be the series finale,” said CBS entertainment head Nina Tassler. “Without question, there are passionate viewers watching this program; we simply wish there were more. We thank an engaged and spirited fan base for keeping the show alive this long, and an outstanding team of producers, cast and crew that went through creative hoops to deliver a compelling, high-quality second season. We’re proud of everyone’s efforts.”
When Jericho was first on the bubble, fans launched a successful campaign to save the show including NutsOnline.com’s attempt to save the show by sending over 20 tons of peanuts to CBS executives. But this time around, CBS decided to pull the plug for good. Alas, it is another show that will live on in DVD.
And fans of “The Unit” also have to wonder if the Special Ops show will make it to the fall. It has yet to be renewed for a fourth season.
