There’s some good quality stuff coming out on DVD today. Make sure you pick some of these up (or at least add them to your Netflix Q).

Movies:

I Am Legend

A terrible virus has spread across the planet and turned the human race into bloodthirsty monsters. Mankind’s only hope for survival is scientist Robert Neville (Will Smith), the one person left unaffected by the epidemic. When he’s not fighting for his life against the hordes of the infected, Neville searches for a cure to reverse the virus’s effects — all the while battling his own doubt and despair as he spends every day alone.

Atonement

In this drama based on the critically acclaimed novel by Ian McEwan, a childhood lie irrevocably changes the lives of several people forever. When 13-year-old Briony Tallis (Saoirse Ronan) misinterprets a moment of flirtation between her older sister Cecilia (Keira Knightley) and a servant’s son, Robbie Turner (James McAvoy), her confusion causes her to finger Robbie as the perpetrator of a crime. Brenda Blethyn and Vanessa Redgrave co-star in this Oscar nominee for Best Picture.

Enchanted

Princess Giselle’s (Amy Adams) perfect life in the wonderful cartoon kingdom of Andalasia comes to an abrupt end when the evil Queen Narissa (Susan Sarandon) exiles her to the cruel, real world of New York City, where the naive girl will have to quickly learn some street smarts. Fortunately, a Prince Charming in the unlikely form of a divorce lawyer (Patrick Dempsey) offers to lend the bewildered Giselle a hand.

Television:

Battlestar Galactica: Season 3

The third season of this popular sci-fi drama picks up where the 10-part series of “Webisodes” left off, with Tigh (Michael Hogan), Tyrol (Aaron Douglas) and Anders (Michael Trucco) leading resistance forces on New Caprica in attacks against their Cylon oppressors. Elsewhere, a reluctant Starbuck (Katee Sackhoff) is enduring forced cohabitation with Leoben Conoy (Callum Keith Rennie), a humanoid Cylon agent she despises.

The Bionic Woman: Volume 1

While working to support her kid sister (Lucy Hale), Jaime Sommers (Michelle Ryan) is hit by a car. Life as she knows it seems over until help arrives in the form of a top secret government project that turns her flesh and bones into bionic parts with superhuman abilities. The classic 1970s series starring “Bionic Woman” Lindsay Wagner gets a 21st-century makeover in this updated remake that borrows little else but the title.

Married With Children : Season 8

Led by shoe-selling malcontent Al Bundy (Ed O’Neill) and his wife, Peggy (Katey Sagal) — the less-than-industrious matriarch with an aerodynamic ‘do — America’s favorite family of dysfunction returns with another year of their trailblazing sitcom. Eighth season guest stars include Gary Coleman, Danny Bonaduce, Waylon Jennings and the Village People, plus sports legends Joe Namath, Johnny Bench and Ernie Banks.
