When you’re a faithful fan of a TV Show, there’s nothing worse than its fate being up in the air when renewal time comes. The Writer’s Strike has relegated many shows to “on the bubble” status like Fox’s “Prison Break.” But also riding that bubble is CBS’ awesome action-drama, “The Unit.”
Quite frankly, the strike might have been the only thing that Sergeant Major Jonas Blane (Dennis Haysbert) and the rest of The Unit couldn’t overcome. Season 3 only lasted a short 11 episodes before the strike took it off the air. The last episode aired in December and it certainly was not fitting of a Season finale (and not even close to a Series finale).
But CBS should renew The Unit for another few trips around the block. It’s had respectable ratings in its three seasons. If anything, The Unit has been consistent and the story has always delivered. It has had all the things you could ask for: character development, intelligent plots, wit, action and a moving story arch full of drama. And while the contrast between the male and female storylines (at war versus at home) might seem like a deliberate attempt to please both sexes, I’ve found that the wives have had their fair share of engaging storylines. Actually, the home front dynamic is what provides an additional richness beyond the action (the show wouldn’t be as good if it were just men on a mission).
Further, The Unit had some truly memorable moments during Season 3: the 2-Part season premiere (a continuation of the 2nd season’s explosive finale with the fellas on the run), Colonel Ryan and Tiffy getting caught by Hector and, of course, Hector’s untimely death.
Loading …It’s been an exhilarating run for show - watching the guys get into a dilemma and wiggle their way out by sheer intelligence, force or luck has been quite the adrenaline-pumping experience. But rendering this show cancelled before it can run its natural course would be nothing short of a tragedy.
I don’t doubt that CBS could run its brain-dead reality TV shows all week (Big Brother and Survivor) with superb ratings. Oh, and there’s only so many forensic shows that you can have in your lineup as well. A network’s portfolio should do more than just maximize dollar return, it should consider viewer experience as well.
The Unit is a true gem with great acting and writing and CBS should not just throw it the wayside. What do you think, should CBS “Fire Up” The Unit again or just let it slide?

Please CBS … DO NOT TAKE THE UNIT OFF THE AIR … I Love the show so much, I buy all the DVD’s at the end of the season. I am so disgusted with shows on television these days and now to find one that me and my friends are addicted to and learn it will not come back for a 5th season with so much “crap” on all of the networks is disturbing to me. PLEASE CBS … DON’T TAKE IT OFF!!! What can we do to help keep it on the air?!?!? Who can we reach out to?!?!?!
I loved when Mac injured himself (dislocated shoulder) to allow himself to be captured then popped the shoulder back and thrwarted the assassination plot.
Intelligent dialogue, gripping drama, action, romance, who was the bean-counter who decided to drop “The Unit”? At least give us a 2-hour Finale to give us closure. Please?!!!!!

The unit is the best show on network tv. All the reality shows and your CSI (cities 1 through 50) are completely washed up!! Cancelling the unit would leave very few fans of CBS. BRING THE UNIT BACK!!!!
Market this show with a video game of the same name and watch your audience go through the roof. Just don’t cancel it before it has the chance to get established with good solid foundation.
Please for all the is sacred in this world do not end the unit. Best show in your line up and is not a reality show or crime drama. I can only take a CSI in so many cities before it is just played out. Then we can look forward to shows like CSI England, or CSI Germany. Don’t take the only show worth watching off the air. Believe in your viewers and fans. They know what they like and when they wanna watch it. Listen ot them like the network listend to Jericho fans. Does trying a new time slot cost anything if it doesn’t work other than the cold hard fact that it is not going to work and you proved us all wrong. Take the gamble and really put some power behind the unit and watch it over take the ratings.

C’mon CBS…Let’s listen to the people who really care about you. The Unit is by far the best series in a longtime. You can put all those phony “reality” shows in the freezer - they just can’t come close to competing with the real talent that you have in The Unit. Also, the writers of The Unit are so far advance over all the other shows, you have got to see the light. Give us what we like to watch - The Unit.

Would be a crying shame if this series got snatched from the roster, after only a fourth season no less. Besides Lost, this is one of the better prime time shows out there. Great writing, acting, and a lot of fun to watch. Plus, despite the action, they tend to show a lot of relevent issues going on in the world today and an inkling of what our military are sometimes up against.
CBS. Do us all a favor and renew this show. The other crap you produce is the reason why I rarely watch the big networks.

Love the Unit. Its in a bad time slot most of this season with football or basketball games pushing the start time back sometimes as much as an hour, give it a good slot and it will do better, its a great show!!

This is one of mine and my family’s favorite TV series, we are die hard fans of it and can’t wait to watch every episode that comes out, I give it a realllyyy good rating. I admit season 3 kind of lost the main spotlight but I think season 4 is lighting it back up. Every action packed, thriller, intillent series like The Unit is going to have it’s up’s and down’s, and maybe it’s all they can afford to have come on so late…I don’t care I love the Unit and I would be highly disappointed and give CBS a bad rating if they did cut it off. We love the Unit it’s characters, the plot, the script everything was very carefully, and creativly put together. Why cut off a show this great???
