Warner/Chappell Music has signed the Oscar winning pair of Glen Hansard and Marketa Irglova (Falling Down). The musical duo earned their way into the hearts of the world for their Indie film Once.
Unlike movies like Juno, which many in the movie industry consider “Indiewood,” Once had an overwhelmingly genuine feel that came from featuring non-actors in the lead roles.
Executive VP and head of creative (U.S.) for Warner/Chappell, Glen Brunman, said, “Glen’s and Mar’s songs have touched so many who have seen the film Once… Glen’s work with the Frames will continue to rock, and we’ll make sure that it reaches an even wider audience.”
Hansard and Irglova are scheduled to tour the US between April and June 2008.
