My Oscar night is officially done. The one award I wanted to witness more than any others was the Academy Award for Best Performance by an Actor in a Supporting Role.
Javier Bardem has taken home the Oscar for his role as Anton Chigurh in No Country for Old Men. This film was so brilliantly directed and delivered by the Coen Brothers with the lynchpin role of Bardem that, personally, I don’t think there could have been another winner.
What are you thinking if you’re sitting in the audience and you’re up against Bardem? Probably, “Yeah I’m not going to win it this year. I’ll get ‘em next time.”
Honestly, if anyone else took home the Academy Award I, and I’m sure countless others, would have felt cheated. Ok, one more piece of fan-lust. Bardem is such a brilliant actor that I’m anxiously awaiting his next role.
Congratulations to Javier Bardem, you earned it!
