X-Men Origins: Wolverine is ramping up its casting, with the latest additions being Ryan Reynolds and Black Eyed Peas member, Will.I.Am.
Reynolds will play the infamous Deadpool, the sarcastic “Merc with a Mouth.” The mutant is well-known for his sarcastic humor and his willingness to break the “fourth wall” in comic books…not to mention his bad-ass dual blade swordsmanship.
Will.I.Am has also been cast in the movie although his role is unidentified at this point. Also appearing in the movie will be “Friday Night Lights” star Taylor Kitsch, who will play the mutant Gambit. And, of course, Hugh Jackman, will reprise his X-Men trilogy role of Wolverine.
“Wolverine” will be a prequel to the X-Men movies and will hit theaters on May 1, 2009.
this movie has some potential to be good. At least keeping Jackman as wolvering will add some familiarity right off the bat. Not sure how i feel about Reynolds, although he could probably pull off Deadpool’s humor.
