pbreak13.jpgWell it took us 5 months to see 13 episodes of Prison Break, but the end of Season three is here.

Tonight’s episode starts off immediately with Michael and Lincoln in pursuit of Whistler as he tries to escape their clutches. Whistler’s fast enough to evade Michael, but when he stops to call Gretchen, Lincoln comes out of now where with a damaging right hook. Suspect caught.

With Whistler in hand, Michael and Lincoln resume their upper hand play with Gretchen. Michael outsmarts this season’s Bill Kim (annoying antagonist) with every move. They give her a hostage transfer location so that they can pick up LJ and Sofia. Ahh, but their first location is merely a ruse designed to confirm that Sofia and LJ are alive. The real location is a museum (It’s amazing how calm these guys are about breaking out of a Prison when the Panamanian Army and Coast Guard were looking for them).

Back at Sona, a riot begins to overtake control of Lechero, who is bleeding out from being shot from the escape attempt. T-Bag is able to help him out, but only because he wants Lechero have his girlfriend bring $50,000 into the prison. T-Bag then kills the former Sona dictator, smothering him with a pillow. Bellick helplessly watches as T-Bag effectively takes control of the prison.

Sucre has also seen better days. Michael’s former cellmate is forced to dig his own grave as the Sona guards press him for information on Scofield’s whereabouts. Sucre doesn’t budge though and comes seriously close to taking a real dirt nap as the guards bury him alive. With about one nostril peering through the dirt, he’s released from the torture treatment, only to be incarcerated in Sona.

Back at the museum, the exchange actually goes down without a hitch. Michael chose the museum since it forced Gretchen and friends to jettison their weapons before passing through the metal detectors. LJ reunites with Lincoln and Whistler is handed over to Gretchen. However, we witness some dialogue that suggests he’s not an unwilling captor; he’s been plotting something with the Company all along. Michael smashes a display case in order to set off the museum’s alarm (to ensure a safer exit). After everyone exits through the front door, Whistler is stopped by guards who are investigating the alarm. A shootout ensues, and Sofia is hit. Gretchen and Whistler escape while Michael and Lincoln are also forced to get out of dodge.

Later, Lincoln, Michael and LJ visit Sofia in the hospital and LJ gives Michael the orgami rose that he once gave to Sara Tancredi. Sofia mentions that she has some information on Whistler, which Michael wants to use to bring down him, Gretchen and the Company. Mahone and Whistler later meet up at a local bar where they discuss joining forces to work with the company. The season ends with Michael set out to find Gretchen and Whistler, the people responsible for Sara’s death.
