It’s finally escape time! Not since Episode 21 of the first season have I felt this level of vicarious unease of a Prison Break. Tonight’s episode starts out with Lechero, Bellick and T-Bag going through the escape hole, only to get caught when the lights come back on. Lechero gets shot in his attempt to escape but survives..for now.
Oh.. but it was all just another ruse calculated by Michael Scofield. He wanted those 3 to get caught so that they would have room to escape. This time around though, there’s way less finesse. Michael, Whistler, Mahone and McGrady make an improbable escape out the yard without being seen by seemingly 100 guards. They make their way out through the fence that Sucre previously applied acid to.
So it’s out into the dense Panamanian jungle for the 4, who are chased by Sona guards. In tradition escape fashion, Whistler falls and hurts his leg. The 4 make it to the beach to meet Lincoln. We finally found out what Lincoln buried in the cooler - oxygen tanks for the escapees to breath with as they take a dive into the ocean.
After swimming for a few miles they arrive at buoy and wait for Sucre. However, Papi is being held up at Sona. McGrady’s father comes to the rescue as he was notified of the plan to break out his son. The 5 men ride to the coast in an uncharacteristically peaceful moment.
After they reach land, McGrady and father leave and the 4 escapees now get into a truck, little do they know that they’re being tracked by Gretchen (she put a tracking device in the stopwatch she gave to Whistler). After a short chase and a gunfight, the 4 escape.
Back at Sona, the guards are grilling Bellick and T-Bag for info on the escapees. Under the threat of torture, T-Bag sees Sucre being held and rats him out.
Of course everything doesn’t go right. Lincoln decides he wants to shoot Mahone for all that’s he’s done (including killing his dad). In the confusion, Whistler escapes and the brother’s are facing an imminent meeting with Susan without their bargaining chip.
This was an awesome episode of Prison Break, I was on my toes the entire 60 minutes. Tune in next week for the Season Three finale. Will there be an exchange? Will Lincoln get LJ back. Will Sofia be freed?
