This week on my amazingly thinning comic book pull list, only one Marvel title will make it into my bag. This week I’ll list the Marvel buy first, because it’s probably the best title I’ve been following over the past 4 months. Spider-Man had his moment to shine, but fizzled out for a brand new day.
Marvel Comics

Uncanny X-Men #495

It’s the aftermath to Messiah Complex, and Professor X is either dead or comatose. Plus in 5 more issues we’ll reach Uncanny X-Men #500, and comic book writers love scheduling something amazing for any 100th issue milestone.

“Divided We Stand”
Reeling from the events of Messiah Complex, the surviving mutants reassess Xavier’s dream amidst the rubble of the mansion. Betrayed by one of their own, and mourning the loss of former allies, is peaceful coexistence still an option? The only thing that’s certain is an uncertain future for mutantkind. Is anyone safe in a world without X-Men?

Batman Confidential #12

The final chapter of “Lovers and Madmen” is here. Joker and Batman - Nuff Said.

Detective Comics #841

One of the most consistent comics out there (next to anything written by Geoff Johns), “Detective” remains a linchpin in this comic buyers shopping bag. Scarface and the new Ventriloquist make their deadly return to “Detective Comics” in a story destined to surprise readers! Plus, Zatanna guest-stars in this special tale!

Justice Society of America

Speaking of Geoff Johns. JSA is here and I’m buying. The title has lost its thrill in the past few months, what with the random Kingdom Come Superman, but I still follow any title written by Geoff Johns. What can I say, I’m a fan!

“Thy Kingdom Come” explodes as Jakeem Thunder returns! The Justice Society reaches out to the next wave of legacy heroes: the new Mr. America, Judomaster, Amazing Man and more! Plus, another face familiar to the Kingdom Come Superman makes his presence known.

Nightwing#141

After Ra’s returned, Nightwing received a new lease on life, and I’m interested to see if they can maintain the momentum leading up to issue #150. I’ll buy out of curiosity.

As the mystery of the disappearing bodies of heroes and villains continues, Superman pays Nightwing a visit. Meanwhile, Dick Grayson’s personal life takes a few surprising turns, and a new base of operations for Dick gets under way with a little help from his super friends.
