Katharine McPhee Dropped by RCA

A lot of people may watch American Idol, but they sure aren’t buying records made by Idol alumni.

Katharine McPhee, runner up to Taylor Hicks on the Fox singing contest two years ago, has been dropped by record label RCA. This comes RIGHT after former winners Taylor Hicks and Ruben Studdard were both dropped by their labels - Arista Records and J Records, respectively.

McPhee’s self-titled debut sold a paltry 366,000 units despite its debut at number 2 on The Billboard 200 in 2007.

But don’t cry for Katharine, she’s switching gears to acting and will be in  a film entitled “I Know What Boys Like” this summer. Oh, and she’s also engaged to actor Nick Cokas as well.
