Here’s the comic pull list for the week of Jan. 9:
DC Comics:
Batman Confidential #13
Doesn’t look to be anything amazing, but the story lines are bearable and hey I like Batman.
Green Lantern Corps #20
Wasn’t impressed with the final outcome of Sinestro Corps, but they alluded to one ring/corps for every color in the spectrum. This year is the build up to the “Blackest Night,” or was that the “Blackest Day” - who knows. Mongul appears in this with a yellow ring (Spoiler) - but he’ll probably end up with the Red Ring of Anger at some point.
Nightwing #140
So, I’m going to pick this up. The title fell off of my pull list, but I’m hoping the title can garnish some momentum from the Return of Ra’s story arc.
Teen Titans: The Lost Annual
I’ll pick it up. Heck, I admit it… I like the Teen Titans.
Marvel Comics:
Amazing Spider-Man #546
So, I wasn’t too thrilled with the “shocking conclusion” of the “One More Day” story arc. Parts 1-3 were awesome, then there was a big let down. I mean Spider-Man didn’t even make the decision to cut a deal with Mephisto. Mary Jane did. How terrible is that? Spidey doesn’t even wear the pants in his own comic. Plus everything that happened in Civil War basically didn’t happen, because now Spidey never revealed his identity. This type of quick fix BS is always annoying. It’s like time travel story arcs, where the whole story line you’ve been following for so many years just never existed. It’s this kind of tomfoolery that made Maximum Clonage a painful death to Marvel’s top seller.
Anyway, I’ll pick up the issue just because I want to know how bad it will turn out to be.
Hulk #1
I’m going to pick this up, but don’t think I have my reservations. World War Hulk ended lukewarm, so I’m not expecting much. But, hey, with Jeph Loeb and Ed McGuinness on board it’s worth a shot. Hopefully, I’ll be pleasantly surprised.
X-Factor #27
Hells Yea I’m picking this up!! Messiah Complex Chapter 11! Cable and Charles connect. Can you say Dynamic Duo??!?!?!!!
