I’ve just checked out the pre-release premiere episode for “Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles,” and it looks to be an amazing series.
The 2007-2008 TV season has seen two excellent SciFi women heroines make their way to broadcast TV. The first was Bionic Woman Jaime Sommers on NBC. Now it looks like Sarah Connor will be leaving a very strong impression with viewers.
What I really like about the Sarah Connor Chronicles is that it’s a serious show with an edgy lead. For years we’ve watched the Terminator series, where Sarah Connor does her best to protect her son John on his way to becoming a future military leader. But you know what? Who cares about a future that’s yet to be written. The real story is what’s happening in the present day. We all remember the opening of Terminator 2 which starts with Sarah Connor in the mental house doing pull ups. We marvelled at how heroically menacing Sarah’s character had become. This is the real story.
In the premiere episode, John Connor tells his mom that he’s no messiah and that she needs to lead the charge to stop the Terminator future from ever happening. Sarah accepts the task and now we have a series. What I like about TSCC over the Bionic Woman is that it takes on a full out serious tone like broadcast shows with male leads such as 24 and Prison Break. Every Terminator/SciFi fan knows the name Sarah Connor, so there should be no problem pulling in an audience, especially with a top notch action packed story line.
I’ll be religiously watching the first few episodes. Hopefully, the series will maintain the impact and momentum of the premiere.
“Terminator : The Sarah Connor Chronicles” premieres Sunday Jan. 13 at 8/7C and Monday Jan. 14 at 9/8C on Fox.

Excellent photos! JC seems to be the life of the party. But hey, why not celebrate. This looks like it will be a great series based on the premiere.
The Terminator series has always been a favorite. People always remember Arnold, but forget how much Linda Hamilton added to the movies’ realism. I’m really excited to see Sarah Connor make her way to broadcast as the lead role. And, I’m hoping that this series becomes an instant success.
With the writers’ strike going on, it should be able to garner more viewers while other shows are on the back burner.
I had the pleasure of attending the premiere the other night and I must say that Fox did a very good with the first episode. The only question that I have is; will the series transcend from movies to TV?
As you stated above it will be interesting to see if how many viewers such as yourself tune in. Hopefully people will tune in and make the series a success.
