No, I’m not referring to Petron - though I’m sure a few celebratory drinks were had to mark the occasion. The execs at MTV have ordered a second season for their latest reality hit ‘A Shot at Love With Tila Tequila.’

The series had breakout ratings for its season one finale, scoring a 5.9 P12-34 rating with over 6 million average viewers. That’s the highest score for an MTV series since August 2005.

Viacom reports that “the network is scheduled to air 10 new episodes beginning this spring. MTV is rounding up a new group of suitors, both straight guys and lesbians, to vie for Tila’s love and attention.”

That’s not the only cause for celebration. ‘A Shot of Love’ is receiving some spin-off action. A new comedic, romantic elimination series has received the green light from MTV. The new series, ‘That’s Amore!’ has already begun casting. The reality TV show will star Domenico Nesci, one of the fan-favorite contestants from the first season. Six episodes have been commissioned for the first quarter of 2008.

Tony Disanto, Executive VP of Series Development & Programming for MTV, said, “Thanks to the creative talent and vision of Sally Ann Salsano, ‘A Shot At Love With Tila Tequila’ was one of our big breakout hits for 2007… “We are now officially expanding our relationship with Sally Ann and her team at 495 Productions and look forward to her next slate of projects including, another “Shot At Love,” “That’s Amore,” and more great, compelling TV for our viewers. We’re thrilled to be in business with her.”
