If you’re at a loss for what to watch this weekend, here’s some options for you.
On TV, HBO’s “The Wire” is back with it’s fifth and final season. This is the typical case of a great show not getting the exposure that it deserves. However, its cult following praises because of its in depth “cops and robbers” look into the streets of Baltimore. It’s not for the faint at heart though, the show gets just about as gritty as the real life battle between police and drug dealers that it emulates. Strap yourself in for what will likely be an explosive 10 episode run. Will Marlo Stanfield be standing at the end of the show? What will become of Omar Little? Will McNulty finally get some peace? Hopefully, all questions will be answered soon.
In the movies, “One Missed Call” starring Ed Burns opens. It’s the terriying story of a chain of people receiving chilling cell phone messages that are actual recording of their own horrifying last moments before dying.
