There were some rumors going around yesterday about casting additions to the GI Joe Live Action movie. The Hollywood Reporter is confirming 3 new additions.
Rachel Nichols, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje and Said Taghmaoui will join the highly anticipated 2009 Paramount Pictures big screen adaptation of America’s favorite counter-terrorism unit.
As was rumored yesterday, Rachel Nichols will play Scarlett, the crossbow wielding redhead that is all about counter-intelligence.
Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, of “Lost” fame, will play Heavy Duty, the Joe Team’s ordnance expert who loves classical guitars and Bach. Heavy Duty was a late addition to the original Joes lineup and I personally would rather see his brother, Road Block cast. Hopefully, there are plans to bring good ol’ Roadblock on as a main character.
“The Kite Runner” actor Said Taghmaoui will also joint the Joe’s as Breaker, the team’s bubble gum chewing communication specialist.
Sienna Miller, who previously joined the cast playing an unannounced part, is also confirmed as the Baroness. She better start working on her accent right now! Oh, and watch out for Destro’s aggressive advances!
