You probably read the title of this post and asked yourself, “Really?” That’s what was running through my head over the past month. Not only did “Alien vs. Predator” get a sequel commissioned but it’s coming out Christmas day. Whooptie Freakin Do.
This may be one of the most unhyped movies of the year. And, why hype it up? It’s not like the original AVP was any good. Let me rephrase that, AVP stunk. BUT, and this is a huge but, if you watch AVP with the TV on mute, it wasn’t half bad. It was actually freakin’ awesome.
Why is that? Because the only reason we watched AVP was to see gore, and that’s all AVP was. Gore. Honestly, I’m not complaining, it gave me a chance to get some wicked cool Alien and Predator collectors’ toys from Todd McFarlane.
Anyway, if you’ve got some free time check out the newly launched AVP website. It’s pretty cool, though I doubt the movie will be. Actually, I’ll probably watch it with earplugs and let my imagination work the dialogue. Then it will probably kill.
The folks at AVP need to switch directions and add Batman into the equation. Predator vs. the Batman, that’s a story we want to see.
