Comedian Dave Chappelle may have turned down a $50 million dollar contract, but he is not backing away from losing his Laugh Factory standup title.
Chappelle, 34, set a record at the Laugh Factory April, telling 6 hours and 7 minutes of straight jokes. Upon hearing that Dane Cook, the prior record holder at 3 hours and 50 minutes, was gunning for his Laugh Factory standup title, Chappelle decided to take the stage first and beat him to the punch.
Chappelle’s new record wasn’t that far off from his record set in April. The comedian told jokes for 6 hours and 12 minutes.
Before Dane Cook, Richard Pryor held the record since 1980 for 2 hours and 41 minutes.
