The Grinch may be able to steal Christmas, but he can’t steal Thanksgiving. The Broadway play “Dr. Suess’ How the Grinch Stole Christmas!” is back on Broadway, opening its doors for the first time since two weeks ago.
The play was one of many to succumb to the stagehands strike. The new development for the lay came after a legal battle in which the show’s producer fought the owner of the St. James Theatre for refusing to allow the musical to conduct performances amidst the strike.
The stagehands strike continues to cancel over 25 Broadway shows and has been going on since November 10. It was widely hoped that the strike would end before the lucrative Thanksgiving holiday, but talks broke down earlier this week.
