A spokesperson for Kanye West has stated that the rapper’s mother, Donda West, has died.
At this time, no cause of death has been named. Ms. West was 58 years old and passed away in Los Angeles on Saturday night.
Kanye was extremely close with his mother and wrote songs about their strong relationship. Donda West served as the CEO of West Brands LLC, the parent company of Kanye’s business ventures. She also was the chairwoman for the Kanye West Foundation, which serves to decrease school dropout rates and improve literacy.
