britney-thumb.jpgBritney Spears gave a rare interview to Ryan Seacrest Wednesday on his radio show so that she could thank her fans that have been supportive during her meltdown.

When asked about the reports that she’s failing in the mother department, the pop starlet said:

“Like I said, people say what they want and do what they do. It’s sad how cruel our world can be. At the end of the day, you just have to know in your heart that you’re doing the best you can do.”

I hope she doesn’t call her recent behavior “the best she can do.” She’s been on a precipitous fall downward for years now. And there’s no telling where she’ll stop.

Haha.. I can’t blame y’all for jumping on the Britney-bashing bandwagon. These days, Britney’s downward spiral is the big talk in town. She really is losing it but one has to play devil’s advocate and ask: “How would each of her biggest critics fair in her situation?”

The sad reality is that she never had a chance to have a normal, care-free childhood and now she’s letting loose at all the wrong times. I am hardly making excuses for Ms. Spears but, really, the more famous you are, the more scrutiny one’s actions get, and the more they are blown out of proportion. The pressure must be insane. I’ve had a small taste of the peril of fame and it was just a teaspoon compared to her watertower-sized serving.. That was enough to drive me batty! It’s not easy being green, as Kermit once said. =oP

Hey, it makes for good comedy. At the same time, I think people that scorn her actions excessively may be bigger offenders looking for something to make them feel better about life. I think we should all take her actions as a reality check and take note of what NOT to do! ;o)
