Fox is initiating plans to create a spin-off on its popular Monday night series. The Hollywood Reporter gave word that the new series has a working title of “Prison Break: Cherry Hill” and will center on a woman named Molly.

The script for the new series has been ordered from “Prison” executive producer Matt Olmstead and co-exec producer Zack Estrin. The show reportedly will have the same tone as “Prison.”

Molly is an upper-middle class wife that suffers a family tragedy at the hands of the Company, the same organization behind the Lincoln Burrows setup on “Prison Break.” her thirst for vengence leads her to Panama and Sona - the prison facility Michael Scofield is currently working on getting out of.

Olmstead said, “There is an ironic similarity between Molly and Michael… they’re both emotionally banged-up, both have lost loved ones, and both want the people responsible to pay… so they empathize with each other.”

Molly gets sent to a woman’s detention facility resigned to the fate of her crimes. But, when she receives word that her family may still be alive, life floods back into her veins.

Olmstead added, “In a moment’s time, she is transformed from an unapologetic murderer to a motivated woman who would do anything to get out of prison and be with them.”

Molly will continue on “Prison” if Cherry Hill doesn’t see the light of day.
