From Muppets to Mickey Mouse, Charles Dickens’ “A Christmas Carol” has been remade several times over. The latest edition of “A Christmas Carol” will be a special-effects bonanza starring Jim Carrey as Scrooge.

Wait a second, that’s not all Carrey will be doing on this latest Christmas Carol adaptation. Carrey, who is no stranger to Holiday films starring as the Grinch in Dr. Seuss’ “How the Grinch Stole Christmas,” will also play the ghost of Christmas past, the ghost of Christmas present and the ghost of Christmas future.

There are not many comedic actors who can pull off playing multiple roles in a single movie, but Carrey is definitely one of them. Academy Award winner Eddie Murphy also starred in multiple roles in the 1988 film “Coming to America.”

“A Christmas Carol” will be directed by Robert Zemeckis for Disney Films. Zemeckis brings his experience from working on films like “Beowulf,” “Monster House” and “The Polar Express” to blend live action with 3D imaging.
