The excitement and mystery continued on episode 2 of Heroes this Monday. Let’s begin our recap with the Nakamura family.
Kaito Nakamura, Hiro’s father, was indeed killed after receiving the photo with the photo with the recurring Heroes symbol over his face. Where’s Hiro while his father get’s murdered? Still trapped back in feudal Japan. In the season premiere, Hiro seemed to revert back to his original slapstick whimsical self. “Lizards” showed off the more determined and serious Hiro we saw at the end of season 1. After making a mess of the past, Hiro takes Kensei’s place to make sure history happens the way it should. Unfortunately, this also means accidentally falling in love with a woman who historically was with another man. We also saw that Kensei may have a power similar to Claire. After being shot by arrows, his wounds quickly healed bringing the Samurai wannabe back to life.
Back in the present, another family has its own share of problems. Angela Petrelli also received the mysterious revenge photograph. The police take her in for questioning in regard to Kaito’s death. But, when they leave her alone in the holding cell she is attacked by a mystery assailant. Peter is over in Europe, still trying to figure exactly who and what he is. But, when the stakes get high and he sees someone in danger instinct takes over. In Peter’s case, instinct involves unleashing several powers on two would be rapists.
The Bennet family has tried to remain undercover after the exploits of last season. But, Claire is a teenager and trying to stay under the radar as a teen in California has its own share of problems. That’s not the only problem. Claire tests out her powers by chopping off her little toe. Surprisingly, the toe grows back. Unfortunately, knowledge of the full force of her power came with a problem. Wes, the boy at her new high school, saw her cut off her toe and now knows her secret.
Mr. Bennet still has plans to take down the company. In a strategic plan laid out between Mohinder and Mr. Bennet, the Haitian makes his way back to America and safely under the radar of the Company.
There’s one question that remains. Exactly, what is the power of Maya and Alejandro. We already saw that Maya had the power of death. Now we got a full look at her power. Anyone who stares into her eyes dies. But, it seems her twin Alejandro has the power to stop death.
What’s next for our Heroes? Personally, the Bag Man was looking to see what would be the new fate of Niki Sanders. That will have to wait for next week. Also, who is this new villain that is taking out all of the original members of the Company. And, exactly how will the story of Kensei unfold? Is he the first person to ever show signs of evolution? And, if so were there others before him?
