Small Minded Thinking from the CW on an Online Move for SmallvilleWe’re seven seasons deep in the drama that is Smallville. And, beyond that, we’re a decade deep in the Internet revolution. So, what the $#&* is taking the CW so long to release full episodes of Smallville on the web.

Now, Smallville just happens to be one of the Bag Man’s favorite shows on tv. But, if you read the message boards, there’s one thing people have been asking for over the past year. Oh, and it’s not the end to meteor rock laden story arcs. No, it’s to bring full length episodes of Smallville to the web. Now, maybe there has already been an announcement and the Bag Man missed it. If that’s the case, the Bag Man will happily rescind his caustic remarks.

Every major network has made the move to bring their most popular shows to the web. You can see Lost, Prison Break, 24, Grey’s Anatomy, Heroes, etc. all on the web. The list is countless. Even Supernatural and Everybody Hates Chris, both CW shows, are on the web. So, what’s the problem? Is the hold up with Warner Bros? Hmmm. Maybe, the CW has some side deal with Cable companies to push DVR onto consumers?

And, you know what. How about iTunes while we’re at it. There are millions of fans who will gladly pay $1.99 to get their favorite episode right on their computer and not have to suffer a year long wait to get the DVD.

So, what’s the problem? Let the Smallville populace know. We’ve been with you for 6 years, and we’re ready to follow you into a Bizarro season 7. Make the fans happy and get those episodes online.
