What does Columbian pop-star Shakira do in the off season? Here’s a hint, she doesn’t party or jet-set to some remote location.
Nope, not this pop-star. Shakira, often known to study the language and cultures of countries she tours in, spent this summer in school. And, here the Bag man thought that summer school was something to dread.
After her “Oral Fixation” tour came to a close, Shakira enrolled in a Ancient Western Civilization course at UCLA. Course lecturer Robert Cleve didn’t even realize he had a celebrity in the class. Cleve said that the Columbian singer was an attentive student, who always sat in the front of class and stayed afterwards to discuss the lecture.
Cleve said, “I was really impressed with how intelligent she was… She looked like just an ordinary student. She wasn’t flamboyant … she didn’t act like a big celebrity or anything.”
Personally, it sounds suspicious. Not, that Shakira was in class or that she wasn’t flamboyant. That’s fine. Shakira has always exhibited her intelligence and humility in interviews and public appearances. But, not realizing the whole time Shakira is in your class sounds like a bunch of bull. This is Shakira we’re talking about. Hey, maybe this Cleve fellow is just blind as a bat or just prefers listening to Mozart and watching reruns of “I Love Lucy” over a hip-shaking machine from Columbia. Hey, if the Titanic sank, anything’s possible.
To top off the professor’s tale, he said that Shakira looked just like any other college student. Well if that’s the case, you’ll probably be seeing the Bag man attend a few of these Western lectures himself. Because, if all the girls look like Shakira, then class can’t be all that bad.
