Now on DVD is the ill-fated NBC show The Black Donnellys. It was a short-lived series, but delivered its drama with impact while it lasted. NBC aired 6 episodes, but sidelined the show due to poor ratings performance. Ultimately they dropped it completely from their schedule and streamed the rest of the series online.

The Black Donnellys had serious potential and had interesting characters and storylines. Even more, it developed a cult like following despite the networks plans to cancel it. TBD probably would’ve been better suited for cable TV, where HBO’s “The Sopranos” flourished without having to worry about advertisers and being politically correct.
