Of all things that tonight’s LA Ink could’ve been centered around, I would’ve never guessed that the topic of concern would be Corey Miller’s vasectomy. In the 6th episode of LA Ink, we saw more of the same, a little bit of contrived drama and some seriously rocking tattoos.
Corey Miller is not only a busy artist, but is a dad of three. Afraid of having more kids, he contemplates getting “fixed,” so to speak. At the same time, he’s a even more afraid of the finality of getting “snipped.”
Back at the shop (High Voltage Tattoo), Kat gives model Sabina a tattoo of an old 1940s Pin Up Head with a Banner that says “Beauty Queen” below it. Patron Rob allows Corey to freehand an Owl on his arm. Rob is getting the tattoo in honor of his sister that is mentally challenged. As usual, Corey does a great job; the tattoo has an amazing amount of detail and Rob is blown away at the job he did.
Next up Kat gives patron Adam a portrait piece to do on his forearm. Adam’s father recently passed away and he brings in a photo. Kat does a good job rendering the photo as it is as well as adding her own touch. Boxer Arlene comes in next to get a tattoo to pay tribute to her parents; her mother has breast cancer and her father passed away. It’s a really simple tattoo, but Kim does it nicely.
Hannah gives loan officer Raye a Siamese fighting fish on his arm. Not only does he stop in to get a tat, he does some tricks for the girls on the roller skates he rolled in on.
On the other side of things, Pixie thinks that Kat Von D has it in for her and wants to fire her as shop manager because she’s asked to stay away from the shop. Little did the split-tongue sidekick know that Kat was planning on getting a portrait tattoo her and just needed time for her friend Nikko, a tattoo artist, to finish the job. The portrait is spot-on and perfectly depicts the Kat’s dimpled friend. Pixie is brought to tears by how much Kat cares about her.
And if you’re wondering if Corey goes through with the vasectomy, he waits until the absolute last minute to back out. So perhaps they’ll revisit the topic in Season 2….
So that’s it folks. Tune in next week to see Scott Ian Rosenfield stop by LA Ink for tattoo and Pixie work through the perils of having emergency surgery.

that was funny when Corey was deciding at the last minute
