Jack Bauer will have more new faces to work with on season seven of “24” on Fox. Jeffrey Nording (”Dirt” on FX) and John Billingsley (The Nine on ABC) have been cast as recurring actors on the new season.
Season seven, originally scheduled to be shot in Africa, will now take place in the nation’s capital, Washington DC.
How will all the new character additions pan out on “24″? It’s hard to say. Since the death of fan favs like Michelle Dessler and Tony Almeda, the CTU office has been hard pressed to find any likeable characters. And, let’s face it, we don’t trust anybody CTU hires. Why? Because they’re probably a mole.
After season 3, Chloe began to grow on audiences, especially after the incident where she left the CTU office and pulled out a automatic weapon to kill one of the terrorists. And, ok, there was also Bill Buchanan who has been a strong force in CTU for a couple of seasons, but it looks like he’s gone. Curtis Manning was Jack’s new go-to man after Almeda, but he caught a bad one in season six. So, who’s left to love? Overall new additions to CTU just means more suspicion.
So, judgment will be saved for after the new season starts. Since “24” has been renewed for seasons 7 and 8, with 8 looking to be the final Bauer chapter, the producers will have a lot of work to do to rebuild a great cast for Jack’s final hour.
