Barnes and Noble Flip Flops on OJ Simpson Book - If I Did ItIt looks like the dollar wins again. Earlier this month, Barnes and Noble issued a statement saying that its retail stores would not stock OJ Simpson’s book “If I Did It.” But, after receiving extensive preorders on the book through its web portal BN.com, the retailer has changed its mind.

Mary Ellen Keating, spokesman for Barnes and Noble, issued the following statement, “We’ve been monitoring the pre-orders and customer requests and have concluded that enough customers have expressed interest in buying the book to warrant stocking it in our stores. We do not intend to promote the book but we will stock it in our stores because our customers are asking for it.”

The Simpson book will be published on Sept 13, by Beaufort Books. Rights to the book belong to the Goldman family, who were awarded it as part of their wrongful death lawsuit against OJ Simpson. The family considers it a confession, despite Simpson’s claim of innocence.

Over the past month “If I did It” has made its way to the top 100 list at both Amazon.com and Barnes and Noble.
