The Montreal Film Festival opened for the 31st time tonight. The festival which runs from Aug. 23 through Sept. 3rd opened with the comedic premier of Bluff.
Two years ago, when asked if the festival would make it to its 31st year, the answer would probably have been, “This festival is on a one-way trip to the graveyard.” At the time key government funding sources to the festival had been suspended.
Serge Losique, founder of the festival said, “Who says I’m back from the dead? I never went away.”
