LA Ink on TLC - Third EpisodeAfter renovations that seem to have taken forever, LA Ink is finally open for business. Kat Von D and friends are psyched to be able to work in their new location, and for good reason. The finished product is a completely decked out place, complete with tons of guitars, skateboards and artwork on the walls.

This week’s celebrity visit is from Rapper Eve as she becomes LA Ink’s first official customer. The hip-hop diva has Kat tattoo the words Love and Three in Sanskrit on her lower stomach. It’s a basic tattoo and Eve leaves after, of course, plugging her new album to be released soon.

Later, pro BMX biker Mike Escamilla sits down in Kat Von D’s tattoo chair for a drawing of Leonardo da Vinci’s Vitruvian Man. It’s another simple job for Kat and she subsequently offers up her “yearbook leg”; allowing Escamilla to tattoo “Buff N Stuff” on her knee. Strange.

Meanwhile, shop manager Pixie plans the grand opening party for the parlor. She goes all over LA to pull together the gig, which is complete with roller skates and a lightning bolt cake to symbolize the shop’s name (High Voltage Tattoo).

The rest of the gang hold the fort by working with some new clients. Hannah
gives patron Dinu a rocking thigh tattoo of an amazon looking female figure carrying a skull and weapons. Corey gives Kristen, who has miraculously recovered from serious car accident, a star tattoo with a halo to signify a guardian angel. The ordeal she has gone through provides an incredible backdrop for tattoo that Corey gives her.

So now that the shop is complete, LA Ink is finally hitting its stride. Up next week is former Desperate Housewives star Jesse Metcalfe. Also, Kat Von D contemplates getting a breast job. Here’s the teaser video for the show, which airs on TLC Tuesday August 28 at 10/9c:

    Dear Kat,
Hello, my name is Samantha Sharp I am 20 years old…I am writting you to see if you could help me give my mother the best gift i possibly could. My mother has had a very hard life, my father passed away when i was only 7 years old, which left my mother a single mother of two. I have watched her struggle to raise my brother and i my whole life. She had to bartend to keep food on the table and a roof over our heads.Well, besides my mother, brother, and I we always had my grandmother to help and be the rock for us. She was our everything especially the glue that kept us all together. Well, about two years ago my grandma passed away and it has been the hardest thing for us.When my grandmother was younger she modeled, you know the whole 50’s look and man she was hot!!! well we found some old modeling pics. of her and since then all my mom has talked about is getting this pic tatooed on her back. So, this is where i would appreciate if you came in because you are the only artist that i believe can make this portrait just awesome.I would greatly appreciate this, and i know you are really busy, but if you could squeeze her into your datebook i would owe you forever.

    Sincerly,
    Samantha Sharp

I think that the show needs more of Kat in it. They focus way too much on the other cast.
