Discovery joins the growing population of broadcast and cable networks offering video on demand via the web. Now you can catch full-length episodes of your favorite Discovery Channel, TLC or Animal Planet shows the day after their tv premieres.
The initiative kicks off with three of Discovery’s top tv series: Discovery Channel’s Dirty Jobs, TLC’s LA Ink and Animal Planet’s Meerkat Manor.
On the introduction of this new service, Bruce Campbell, president of Discovery Communications’ Digital Media and Business Development, said, “We have had success in developing a VOD service that builds buzz, awareness and ratings for our networks and drives business for our distributors. The addition of full-length online episodes represents a natural extension of our VOD strategy.”
