UK soul singer Amy Winehouse and husband Blake Fielder-Civil flew to the US on Tuesday to check in for drug rehab.

According to the British Mirror newspaper, sources close to the family said Winehouse was nearly in tears as her father and her husband’s father nearly came to blows over the couple’s addiction. “That was the point when she (Winehouse) realised all the drink and drugs were causing huge problems for everybody.” The singer recently pulled out of a Rolling Stones concert.

In Winehouse’s latest hit “Rehab,” the singer says, “They tried to make me go to rehab, I said NO, NO NO.” It seems that’s finally over. The couple admitted to taking both cocaine and heroin, but denied ever injecting. Allegedly, Amy and Blake stripped in front of witnesses to show that they did not have any needle marks.

Amy, 23, was taken to hospital in the early hours after taking a cocktail of heroin, ecstasy, cocaine, the horse tranquilliser ketamine and booze.

Winehouse and husband both agreed to have their mobile phones confiscated, while in rehab. While in rehab, Amy has stated she will put her career on hold.
