uncleiroh.jpgFans of Avatar The Last Airbender have all grown to know and love Uncle Iroh. He was the first-born son of Fire Lord Azulon and rightful air to the throne of the Fire Nation. Unfortunately, after he lost his son Lu Ten, Iroh lost the will to fight and gave up the battle during the infamous siege of Ba Sing Se.

What many may not know is that Mako, the man who voiced the character of Uncle Iroh, passed after appearing in more than 25 episodes of Avatar The Last Airbender. Since his untimely passing, many have wondered who could replace the man who breathed life into Uncle Iroh, a lovable tea maker and fire-bending master.

It is now known that Greg Baldwin will replace Mako as the voice of Uncle Iroh. He will be making his first appearance during the season three episode entitled “Sokka’s Master.” Coincidentally, both Baldwin and Mako have appeared together on screen before as voice actors. Mako voiced Splinter in the 2007 release of TMNT, while Baldwin voiced some of the additional characters in the film.

Be sure to tune in to Avatar The Last Airbender season three, which premiers on Nickelodeon Friday September 21.

Mako will be missed. Baldwin has some pretty big shoes to fill.
