Have you ever dreamed of hanging yourself from the ceiling with hooks piercing through your flesh? Yeah, me neither. National Geographic Channel’s “Taboo” is a daring new show that pushes the envelope when it comes to shocking subject matter.
The show explores practices that are taboo to American culture, but normal to those that believe in them. the following clips are previews of the show and are pretty intense to watch.
The first is a clip that shows how tribal boys are thrust into manhood by having their skin sliced what seems like millions of times to create scars that resemble alligator skin:
Here’s yet another gruesome clip where a group called the Hanged Men, come together to swing from the ceiling by having sharp hooks pierced through their flesh:
