On July 14, Miami Ink tattoo artist legend Kat Von D opened up her new rockin’ tattoo spot, High Voltage Tattoo, to the public. The LA based shop is also the focus of TLC’s new Miami Ink tattoo shop spin off series LA Ink, starring Kat Von D.

For Kat fans who have been dying to see their favorite tattoo artist since her departure from Miami Ink, walk-ins are welcome at High Voltage: Monday through Friday, 9pm to midnight, and Saturday and Sunday, 2pm to midnight. So, skate up the hot mini ramp and sit down in Kat’s tattoo chair for some new ink.

Unfortunately, during the filming season, the shop will be closed to the public on weekends until 9pm. But, hey why not try getting cast on the show by stopping lainkcasting.com.

(Update: Season 1 filming is complete, the shop is open for business from noon until midnight [Story])

The shop is located at:
1259 n. La Brea Ave.
W. Hollywood, CA 90038

LA Ink premiers August 7th at 10:00pm on TLC.

I know you have so many requests and hear so many stories, but I thought I would give it a shot. I am 42 next month, married w/ one 5 year old son after 7 pregnancies. He is a blessing! We have buried 2
daughters after delivering them a little to soon. We almost lost our son as well. I have a very difficult time carrying children due to a weak cervix. We think about our girls daily. It is the hardest thing I have ever gone trough. I do have one
Tattoo of a flower with the girls initials and would like to add on. I love your work Kat and have
wished you could add to my Tattoo. I am from the Chicago area and would love to come out when you were around. Is that possible? I have been looking for the best artist and by far you are it!
Please let me know. Thank you so much!! Valerie

Catfish, makes me wonder what YOU look like. With a name like that, probably stinky, slimey, and trash eater who also talks alot of….TRASH (S*%#T). Oh, did your customers give you that name because you were that “trashy?” Just because some women have tattoos don’t mean they’re “Skanks.” Some of us have a career, family and a very decent life, unlike people who sit at the computer, criticize those they don’t even know!! GROW UP and get a life…skank!!

YOU’RE AWESOME KAT!! You are a true artist…

nothin’ says skank like tattoos on a female. unless they are tattoos of some guy’s name (that she WAS engaged to, of course). wonder what all that ink will look like when you are 50+ ?? gonna look like grease streaks from a distance. the only universally agreeded upon thing of beauty is HEALTHY SKIN.

I am 31 years old and a single mom. I love my life and find peace on a daily basis. My twin sister died in a car crash 5 months ago. I … I… well… what do say after that. You pause from typing and you cry all the tears you have avoided crying. Her name was Trisha and she was the epitome of life. She was tatted, stretched, pierced… she used to scare the crap out of our parents. She was the black sheep. She was my other half. She was your biggest fan. She loved pinup art, I have a great picture of her that I am going to tweak a little and create an oil painting portrait. I have to be able to see her, to talk to her… God I miss her. She taught me how to be free. I really want Kat Von D to do this tat (my first one) full back of my twin sis (we called her Lady) in a classy pinup pose on the golf course (she loved to golf… it was so awesome how she was one person but able to be on both totally opposite sides of the spectrum). I don’t want Kat to do this tat because I want to be on TV (which is what I am finding advice on how to do while doing my research online.. seriously… people are searching for ways just to be on TV?… what about life?) Trisha and I used to sit and watch Kat together on TV, she bought me a magazine for our b-day with a Kat spread and 2 unused tickets to a private party as souvenirs. Trish was crazy, funny, outspoken.. if she knew what was on your mind she would say it for you if you didn’t have the gut! Our love for the art on LA Ink was something we shared, enjoyed, I had hoped one day her and I could both go to LA and get tatted together on a birthday. I need my twin sister on me, with me, back together with me. My family members, Dad and 4.. sorry 3.. other sisters have all been tatted with a General Star (she had 13 general star tats) or have their appointments set. I realistically imagine mine will take 1 to 2 years to complete. It will be large and on my back, it will hurt, it will be the one of the most important and emotional moments in my life save the birth of my daughter Tatum. Trisha was the love of my life. You don’t just say goodbye.. you slap their ass on your body somewhere! See you on the flip side.. don’t forget to tell those close to you that you love them… later bitches.

Hi Cat I live in Kelowna B.C and am very ill, and I promised myself before I died I would get you to tattoo a portrait of my 2 year old daughter on my arm, I was wondering how I go about that, if there is a number to the shop where I can book an appointment???

Hello Kat: I promised my brother I would try and contact you to give you a portrait that he made of you. He is not able to contact you himself but he really wants you to have it. He is an Incredible artist and I would love to send you a picture of it so that you could see it. I hope that you would accept this gift, it would mean SO MUCH to him. I would need an email address to sent you a picture of the portrait, does your shop have an email? Thanks so much. Jenean Bergman 702-308-4926

I’m in LA for a few days from near Detroit and would love to see the shop and maybe get some work done, piercing too. I will begrudgingly admit that I am from the midwest and out of my element, but I know great art when I see it. This whole area is a dream. Can I survive there?
    (At Kat’s shop).
    Anxiously,
    Sandy

I think Kat’s work is amazing. I’m savin’ my cash for a road trip from Abbotsford to LA to get my first tattoo done by her. Her style is amazing. And I love that she doesn’t take shit from anyone.
