Harry Potter Box Office Sales as Magical as Ever

The magical orphaned creation of J.K. Rowling soared to number one at the box office this weekend. Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix, the fifth movie release based on the best-selling series by J.K. Rowling proved its franchise power by pulling in an estimated 77.4 million at the box office.

Movie five in the Harry Potter saga had the third-widest release on record, opening in 4,285 theaters, and showing on over 9,000 screens.

The seventh and final novel in the Harry Potter series Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows, will hit bookshelves on July 21. Warner Bros. is already hard at work on movies 6 and 7. Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince is already rumored to hit the screens in late 2008. Daniel Radcliffe, Emma Watson, and Rupert Grint have all already signed on to complete the remaining movies.

    I really liked this movie, but I think it’s getting a little too dark for children.
