Xbox 360 RepairsSoftware giant Microsoft Corp. has stated that the company plans to spend $1 Billion to alter the warranty policy on its popular XBox 360 console. Microsoft is planning to extend the warranty on the console to three years. 360 owners that have had the Flashing-Red-Ring-of-Death issue will get their console replaced for free.
Hardware problems have long troubled 360 owners. The first batch of 360s that shipped in November 2005 was riddled with hardware issues. Countless gamers have also complained about freezing games and consoles that scratch their discs.

This isn’t the greatest news for Microsoft considering that they’re in a console war with Nintendo (Wii) and Sony Corp (Playstation 3). However, the XBox team does have an ace up their sleeve with the release of Halo 3 this September.
