Garver Reincarnates Bearded Great on Miami Ink

Tuesday’s episode of Miami Ink was a bit stale in regards to the tattoo pieces the talented artists at Miami Ink were commissioned to create.

One exception was a recreation of Hans Langseth of Norway, on a customer’s (Matt) back. Langseth holds the record for longest beard at 17 feet, 6 inches. Chris Garver created this back piece on Matt who intends to compete in a beard contest this fall. Who knew beard contests even existed? Matt intends to enter the freestyle beard category, and prays to Langeseth to help his beard grow. “Let the winds of the planet Uranus blow my beard into submission.”

With Kat Von D gone, Garver calls in an old friend to temporarily fill her shoes. Tattoo artist Tim Hendricks stopped by Miami Ink to lend a hand creating some great portrait pieces. Tim was Kat’s mentor at Garver’s shop back in LA. Tim created a wonderful piece of a young couple’s son who died of SIDS. The talented artist created a uniquely vivid picture of the couple’s child resting on his father’s shoulder.

Garver shared a story of his old days working with Kat and Tim. The three decided to tattoo each other at the same time. “Let’s do 1, 2, 3 ’cause there’s three of us.”

Garver also finished a piece he began doing on Tim over a year ago. The picture of a cobra on Tim’s body, reminds him of his two month trip to Indonesia. While there, he gained a greater appreciation for the simple things in life as well as the opportunity to imbibe in cobra blood. Yikes!

Unfortunately, the nomad was there for only a short time. He only stays at a job long enough to raise money for world travel.
