ABC has confirmed that 18 new episodes have been ordered to air during the middle of the 2007-2008 broadcast season. I’m sure that James, the younger brother of the late Saturday Night Live legend John Belushi, is thrilled the hear the news.
Ratings for According to Jim have fallen significantly since its 2001 debut. The sixth season brought in an average of 6.6 million viewers each week. Parent company Walt Disney’s decision to upgrade its ratings standards, spearheaded the cancellation rumor.
According to Jim stars James Belushi as Jim and Courtney Thorne-Smith as his wife, with decidedly opposing personalities. The series plays off of Jim’s machismo raising three children in Chicago.
