Pop star Christina Aguilera is looking to branch out from the music scene and branch into an acting career.
This is not surprising. Many pop-artists attempt the conversion from music to tv and film. The long list of artists who attempted the transition from music to screen star include: Jessica Simpson, 50 Cent, Justin Timberlake, Madonna, Eminem and Britney Spears.
While preparing for her tour in China, Aguilera told reporters, “I am looking forward to moving into another form of what I feel is another creative outlet for me and that would be acting.” The singer says she’s spent the past few years reading scripts and trying to understand the film industry. “It is something that, when I attempt to do it, I want to do it right so it’s important for me that I do choose the right first role for myself.”
Aguilera’s current album Back to Basics was inspired by anything from early 20th century blues and jazz to Marilyn Monroe. She is currently working on her next album, which she promises will be “completely different from this one.”
