In what seems to be a complete curve ball, NBC has cast David Anders of Alias in the role of Takezo Kensei on Heroes. Hiro Nakamura fans will remember that Kensei is the legendary 17th century Japanese swordsman who owned the sword now worn by Hiro.
I’m no soothsayer, nor expert on race relations, but I’m sure this is likely to upset Asian fans. Maybe the casting agency, couldn’t find any Asian actors at the time who were willing to get paid to play the part of Kensei on NBC’s top show? Doubtful.
What’s your opinion? Bad casting choice or Hollywood at its finest?

Maybe he’ll just wear a mask
