Marvel Studios is gearing up to adapt their super-hero team the Avengers over to film. This news comes a week after Warner Bros. Studios announced that the Teen Titans would finally get their moment to shine on the big screen (click here for full article).

Zak Penn is expected to script “The Avengers.” The writer is also working on a script for The Incredible Hulk, starring Ed Norton.

The original Avengers lineup starred an eclectic mix of characters who banded together against the likes of the Norse-god Loki. The lineup included: Thor, Iron Man, the Hulk, and Ant-Man. All of whom Marvel Studios is scheduling to put in their own unique feature. Iron Man, the story of a wealthy businessman with a knack for invention, is already shooting and stars Robert Downey Jr.

DC Comics isn’t taking this lying down. They are already scheduling adapting their super-hero team The Justice League of America for film. It’s still in question whether Christian Bale, star of Batman Begins and the upcoming Dark Knight film, and Brandon Routh, star of Superman Returns, will be on board in their respective roles.

We’re only one day off from the premier of Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer, and it seems like the comic-film age is here to stay.
