The sad rumors circulating through Internet message boards has officially been confirmed. After four seasons, the curtain will fall on Battlestar Galactica. The 22-episode fourth season, slated to air in 2008 will be the final season for this cult favorite.
Admittedly, the Bag Man only recently began watching Battlestar Galactica through the miracle of DVD and Netflix. But, it quickly became a favorite after catching up on season 1.

It’s always best to go out while you’ve still got your viewers attention. And Executive producers Ronald Moore and David Eick have decided to do just that. The two issued a statement on May 31, saying “This show was always meant to have a beginning, a middle and, finally, an end… Over the course of the last year, the story and the characters have been moving strongly toward that end, and we’ve decided to listen to those internal voices and conclude the show on our own terms. And while we know our fans will be saddened to know the end is coming, they should brace themselves for a wild ride getting there: We’re going out with a bang.”
Luckily, Battlestar fans won’t have to wait until 2008 to get their fix of this sci-fi hit. The Sci Fi Channel will air a special two-hour Battlestar episode dubbed “Razor” in November.
