When former Spice Girl Melanie Brown first met Eddie Murphy she thought they were soul mates. In an interview with OK! magazine, Murphy said, “There was this electricity between us. Within half an hour, we were holding hands. We were soul mates. We were like each other in so many ways. It was electrifying.”

Melanie said she and Murphy were both thrilled about the baby. Their relationship was so profound, within three days of knowing each other they got tattoos to publicly brand their relationship. “”After three days, we both got tattoos. I had his name in his handwriting on me, and he had my name in my handwriting on him. Everybody around us was quite sick of us lovebirds … It felt like we had known each other for years.”

But, like many Hollywood and celebrity relationships, this one didn’t turn out the way Brown envisioned. Brown first received notice about the end of the relationship, not directly from Murphy, but like a high-school rumor heard it through the proverbial grapevine. Her friend told her that Murphy said in TV interview that the lovebirds had split months ago and wanted a paternity test immediately.

Brown told OK!, “I was shocked, then I felt disgusted. We were madly in love with each other, and then this happens.”

Truthfully, before she heard the news, the former Spice Girl was thrilled about the pregnancy and was discussing wedding plans with Murphy. Then came the Eddie’s TV message, and a series of unreturned phone calls.

On her feelings, Brown said, “I don’t feel humiliated. I think the only person who has humiliated themselves is Eddie. His behavior was unacceptable … Maybe one day Eddie will tell me why this happened.”
