Activision’s Call of Duty series has been part of the rumor mill for almost a year now, with internet denizens speculating that the franchise’s next game would be set in modern times. If you’re a fan of COD, you know that the game is all about fighting in the trenches of yesteryear’s wars, such as World War II. Activision has now confirmed the rumor by announcing Call of Duty 4: Modern Warfare. The new game will feature a fictional conflict that is based in contemporary times.
There are no other details available at the moment. Activision will unveil the game in a trailer that will be shown during ESPN’s airing of the NFL Draft this Saturday April 28 starting at 1PM EDT.
