Last night, Heroes returned with an all new edge of your seat episode. The enigmatic Mr. Linderman finally showed off his true colors. Up until now, viewers only had a shaky idea of who was behind the future destruction of New York.
First, we were introduced to the New York’s unfortunate demise through the eyes of Isaac’s painting. Then we met the radioactive man Ted, whose hot headed temper could easily level any city. Later, through a vision, we learned that Peter was the source of New York’s nuclear disaster. This was further confirmed through another one of Isaac’s paintings.
We now know that the Las Vegas crime lord Mr. Linderman is the catalyst behind all of the events to come. Like most legendary villains, Mr. Linderman is driven by the belief his actions will serve the greater good of the world. Unfortunately, the greater good is served only through the death of several lives. But, the ever calculating Linderman claims the needs of the many outweight the lives of the few. He aims to sacrifice the small percentage of the world’s population living in New York to create what he claims will be a brighter future for all.
Tim Kring has added a special twist to Linderman’s character. Ironically, Mr. Linderman’s role possesses healing powers. Typically, heroine archetypes are granted healing powers and not the villain.
Mr. Linderman will have his fair share of obstacles soon enough. His pawn in all this is Nathan Petrelli, a man who puts power and glory before the needs of his own family. So needless to say, we’ll probably see a confrontation between Nathan and his brother Peter and daughter Claire soon enough.
And what of the future. It’s changing as we speak. In the confrontation between Isaac and Sylar we learn that Sylar has arrived later than Isaac expected. Hint, hint the future is changing as the present day events unfold. What’s more is that Jessica may finally be committed to the side of good now that Micah has been kidnapped by Linderman. But, wait… there’s more. Mr. Bennett is now sided by Parkman and Ted. Their goal, to go to New York and disable the system tracking our Heroes and then venture out to Las Vegas to take down Linderman, who is also the mastermind behind Primatech.
Can they do it? We have four more episodes to find out if they can. Next week’s episode is a tour into the future of what could be should Mr. Linderman succeed is his nefarious plot. So, stay tuned. And stop by the forum.buzzfocus.com to discuss your theories.
