Spider-Man-Mania is officially here. The web slinger and his dorky alter ego are coming to Broadway. Marvel Studios said Friday that a musical based on the popular superhero is now in the works.
The play will be directed by Tony winner Julie Taymor who has directed the Broadway hit, “The Lion King.” What’s also cool is that there will be music and lyrics by Bono and guitarist The Edge.
It will be very interesting to see how this play is pulled off and whether or not it will be in the context of the movie franchise. It seems like quite a challenge to take an action movie and make it into a stage musical. Anyway, it’s not like I need to remind anyone, Spider-Man 3 will be in theaters in May 4th.
