halo3beta.jpgLook out Halo fans, the Halo 3 Multiplayer Beta will finally go live on May 16th at 12:00 AM PDT and run through June 6th at 11:59 PM PDT.

Apparently the beta will allow us to sneak peek new features of the game. One of those new features includes new functionality for the “X” button, which will enable your Master Chief to generate a shield bubble (as seen in the original halo 3 teaser trailer). We’ll also see some new vehicles and guns sprinkled throughout the boards.

The Beta edition also includes of three maps: Valhalla, High Ground and Snowbound, all only playable in Matchmaking.

While we’ll see a ton of new additions, Bungie is also making sure to save enough surprises for even more anticipation of the Fall Release. Bungie has released a Vidoc (entitled “Is Quisnam Protero Damno!” which shows a lot of the features that we’ll see in the beta. In order to view, You can either visit their site at Bungie’s site or you can download it in 720p resolution on the Xbox Live Marketplace.
