muafront.jpgI’m delighted to report that one of my favorite XBox 360 games is getting an expansion pack.

Activision announced today that it will be releasing downloadable content for Marvel Ultimate Alliance, available sometime in April.

Players will get to use The Incredible Hulk, Magneto, Hawkeye, Sabretooth, Doctor Doom, Cyclops, Nightcrawler and Venom, all complete with signature powers, skins, dialogue. It will also feature a new group of achievement points.

The downloadable content will be released in three packs. The Hero Pack and Villain Pack will each be 500 Microsoft points ($6.25) and the Combined Hero and Villain Pack will be 800 Microsoft points ($10).

This is somewhat of a steep price to add 8 more characters, but if you love this game, it’s worth it and will definitely give it even more replay value.

Wahaha.. I agree. I find that the price scales for XBL Marketplace are all off… There needs to be more of a balance. $10 for a three-map expansion to an incomplete game (Halo 3) is a slap in the face. In this case, this is a premium expansion but, even so, 8 characters and no new simulator missions or other content? Hmmmm… Seems a bit off. Only major expansions should hit the 800 MSP mark. All us should be 400 MSP or cheaper. Maybe that’s just me. =oP

Ok, love the game, hate the price. At the least they can get wet our appetite by giving away one new character for free, and charge when we’re hooked. Halo 2 did it with the new maps some years back. wait, it’s really been “some years.” It’s like the ancient proverb - “Time flies when your stomping the FLOOD, hack slashing with the energy sword and getting a running riot with the proverbial n00b combo.”
